Seminar on History. Since 2025.
In this seminar, students in their final three semesters at SILS explore topics related to history and the memory of the past, with a particular focus on Japanese and East Asian traditions. Through reading scholarly works, analyzing primary sources, and participating in weekly discussions, students develop the research, analytical, and writing skills necessary to complete a senior thesis on a topic related to history, cultural history, or historical fiction.
